Vintage 30” Handcrafted Raggedy Ann Stuffed Doll

This adorable soft sculpture doll is so well done.  In the 80's and 90's, Cabbage Patch was all the rage and the handmade soft sculpture was the next best thing. This doll has no brand tag so I'm assuming she was made by a crafter. Her cloths are Hawaiian in style and appear to also be handmade. She's beautiful with her massive head of dark hair and her hand painted eyes. She is approximately 11 inches long to the top of her head but it's hard to measure with all that hair. Her dress has some staining on the back but has a snap closure which still works and her panties elastic has lost their umph but I wanted to leave her in her vintage cloths. The lace around her arms is also coming unsewn. Please inspect the photos as I have tired to point out everything I see but please take a close look for yourself.

These handmade Guatamala worry dolls come in a variety of different styles and genders wearing Mayan style clothing. The size of the doll can vary between ½ inch and 2 inches tall. In traditional and modern times, worry dolls are given or lent to brooding, anxious or sorrowful children. They would tell their doll about their sorrows, fears and worries, then hide it under their pillow before going to sleep at night. It is said that the child relinquishes their worries to the dolls during the night and by the next morning, all sorrows are said to have been taken away by the worry doll and they can move forward refreshed the next day.
