Review by Leif Hallin: This music reminds us about the Bechet-Spanier Big Four-recordings of 1940 but is of course firstly a salute to the most important man in the history of jazz, Louis Armstrong. He was born in 1901 and this CD was recorded in 2001 by men loving Louis' music more than anything else in the world. The right people to for this mission are all here. Wonderful rhythm guitar by the one and only Marty Grosz! No vocals this time. Ken Peplowski plays some very nice rather cool clarinet and there is the inalienable bass of Vince Giordano who also uses his bass sax on some tracks. And last but not least Jon-Erik Kellso and his Bob DeNicola Puje trumpet. Besides Louis, if Ruby Braff, Buck Clayton, Billy Butterfield and Roy Eldridge would be able to hear Jon-Erik's trumpet playing they would be very pleased. They are all there in his horn and Jon-Erik makes an excellent mix of them and his own musicality. Brand new, ships Media Mail. I have more jazz CDs and am happy to bundle!

I love this glass seahorse ornament. It's too pretty for just the Christmas tree. It's definitely going to adorn a prominent place in my home. Jon was wonderful to buy from. He promptly replied to my messages and was able to secure this very fragile ornament so that it would arrive in one piece. Will not hesitate from buying from him in the future. Thank you Jon.
