Alva Museum Japanese Medallion Pendant

Alva Museum Replicas started designing decorative reproductions of antiquities and sculptures in the 1940’s for marketing in museum gift stores. Pre-owned in very good condition with very light signs of wear which inculde a somewhat darkened patina which adds to the antique appearance of the piece.May need to be cleaned or polished.Please see the photos. This brass medallion necklace is a replica of a Japanese tsuba or sword guard and depicts a chrysanthemum pattern with characters. The medallion pendant is attached to a handsome rope chain and features a box closure. The medallion is slighlty heavy but it can be worn separate from the chain and would also be nice suspended from a black silk cord or stone beads. MEASUREMENTS The medallion measures 2.88” in diameter. The rope chain measures 25" from end to end.
