JR Ford Original Painting Framed 35 x 30 JR Ford was a friend of my great-grandparents. He used to love to visit with my great aunt in Cisco Grove, Ca. In way of saying thanks he gave them this painting of Niles Canyon. At the time this was just a hobby for him. I was surprised when I researched and found out his artworks are displayed and sold in galleries. I am leaving the state and I cannot take the painting with me. Here is a little about the artist: James Russell Ford (American, 1888-1963) was born in California on March 3, 1888. At age nine Ford settled with his family in Alameda, CA where he remained. After serving in WWI, he began a career as a commercial printer while painting in his leisure. Ford maintained a studio in his home at 1305 Pearl Street Alameda, CA until 1963.
