Rare, hard to find, classy and stylish. Wooden beaded purse, impeccable detail.  Brown, blue tan colors.  Minor string/bead overlap on right side, needs patient hands to  set straight-1 row of beads, not noticeable to most.  I've seen only 1 other similar bag online,  on poshmark. Now gone. I've had this bag since high school..I am 49, you do the math. :) One of a kind.

Vintage Betsey Johnson Purse

Vintage1970s Hippie American Flag Leather Layered Fringe Shoulder Bag. This is an original bag from the 1960/70s in almost perfect collectible condition.  It has a 2 layered fringe of the American Flag on one side and all black leather fringe on the opposite side.  It is studded along each side of the shoulder strap. Zipper closure with gold tone pull hardware and inside has a hook & eye closure pocket.  It is in very good vintage condition. There is one strip of fringe broken off but is inside and could possibly be reattached.  The beautiful floral flower power cotton fabric lining is very clean and free of odor. The outside leather white pieces have some minor discoloration from storing. It could clean up with leather conditioner/cleaner. The strap does not detach. Measures: H 10 1/2" x 10". Drop is 10". Top of strap to bottom of fringe 12 1/2".  No maker's tag. Made in China tag. This purse represents the 1960/70s hippie movement of peace, love and personal freedom.  Weight 8 oz.

Beautiful original Betsy Johnson Purse. Purchased in 2011 at her California boutique. Has sat in a dust bag most of its life. Minimal to no flaws from what I can see. 100% cow leather on the exterior, 100% cotton lining. It’s truly a quality purse unlike the newer styles BJ sells now. Please feel free to ask questions!
