Getting Paid

Completed a sale?

Once you have a balance from one or more sales, you can request a cash out by way of Instant Pay or a direct deposit. Either way, getting paid on Mercari is fast and easy.

Instant Pay

Instant Pay is the fastest way to get paid when you need that extra cash. You can use this service once per day not to exceed $600 per month on eligible debit cards. There is a $3 flat fee to use this service. Depending on your bank’s processing time, it can take up to 30 minutes to see the updated balance in your bank account.

How to set up Instant Pay

  1. Verify your government ID
Tap to upload your ID along with a photo of yourself. Your ID will be checked against the photo you uploaded. Usually, this process will be completed in minutes, but there may be some delays in processing (it can take up to 48 hours). The good news is, if you have already verified your government ID on Mercari, you can go straight to step 2

  2. Add a debit card
Once you’ve verified your government ID, you will need to enter your debit card information in My Balance. Currently, only Visa and Mastercard debit cards are eligible for Instant Pay. If your card isn’t eligible or your bank doesn’t approve your request to set-up Instant Pay, you can try another verified card or direct deposit.

Once you’ve successfully submitted your request for Instant Pay, you’re all done! Your funds will be available to you in minutes.

Note: Instant Pay is only available in the latest version of the Mercari app.

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit transfer requests deposit your Mercari balance into your ACH account. These requests are usually processed on the following business day. There is a $2 transfer fee for each direct deposit transfer request.

Once a transfer request is processed by ACH, it can take up to 5 business days for the funds to appear in your bank statement.

Keep in mind that each Mercari account can only use one bank account. So if you have a joint bank account, then that joint bank account can only be connected to one single Mercari account. We do this to prevent fraudulent activity.

Note: Direct deposits are not processed on banking or company holidays.

How to request a direct deposit to your checking account

Tap Settings > Balance > “Transfer my balance”

Enter your name as it appears on the checking account*, including the routing and account numbers.

Confirm the amount you want to transfer then tap “Confirm.” When the direct deposit is processed, we’ll send you an email confirmation.

*Please note that direct deposits can only be made to checking accounts.

Routing numbers are 9-digit identification numbers located on your checks. The routing number’s location on your check may vary. If you’re having trouble finding it, your bank can help.

Making changes to a previously requested direct deposit

To make changes to a direct deposit request, you’ll first have to cancel it. Once it’s been canceled, you can make changes here:

Settings > Balance > “Transfer”

Then enter your name as it appears on the account, including the routing and checking account numbers.

Canceling a direct deposit request

If you’d like to cancel a direct deposit request, you’ve got until 11:59 PM (PT) the day of your request to cancel it.

Here’s how you can cancel it:

  • Go to your profile, then tap Settings > Balance > Deposit History

  • Tap the deposit you want to cancel and tap Cancel

If the Cancel option isn’t available for you to tap, then the request has already been processed.

When this happens, the receiving bank will reject the funds within 10 business days if the account and routing numbers are invalid.
