    Coupons

    You can earn coupons or discounts on certain items through promotions or as a thank you from our team. Make sure you use your coupon before it expires!

    Using coupons

    Check out the requirements, savings, and expiration date for your coupons by going to Profile > Settings > Coupons.

    To make things easier, eligible coupons are automatically applied at checkout. If you want to change the coupon you’re using or save your coupon for a later purchase, tap the “X” next to the “With coupon” price on the checkout screen.

    If you applied a coupon to an order and the order is canceled, the coupon will automatically be returned to your account and its expiration date extended for the amount of time the transaction was active.

    For bundle offers, coupons are automatically applied when you submit an offer. If you want to change the coupon you’re using or save your coupon for a later purchase, under “Coupon applied” on the offer confirmation screen, tap the “X” next to the coupon name. Coupons for individual items are not eligible to be used on bundle offers and will not be applied when you submit an offer.

    Disclaimer: To receive the coupon, transactions must not be canceled. Coupons are not transferable between accounts and may not be duplicated. Individual offers may vary. Limit one coupon per eligible Mercari User.

    Coupon Codes

    Mercari may offer coupons that offer a discount during a specific time period.

    • Example 1: Shop between 10/14/22 and 10/24/22 and you can earn a $10 coupon code for your next purchase of $50+.

    • Example 2: When you purchase in the electronics category today through 10/31/22, you can earn a $5 coupon on your purchase of $35+.

    Note: Promotions and coupons may vary.

    How to enter a coupon code?

    There are two ways to enter a coupon code:

    • You can manually enter the coupon code during check out. Regardless of your payment method (PayPal, credit card, ApplePay, Zip), coupons can be applied to your purchase.

      • When you arrive at the checkout page, under “Coupon”, you will see an “Apply coupon code” box.

      • Once you redeem a valid coupon code (Example: Save10), the associated coupon will be saved to your account. You will be able to apply the coupon towards your purchase (minus taxes and shipping).

    • Second method: You can redeem from your profile page.

      • On app - Navigate to your profile, click on settings, select Coupons

      • On Mercari.com - Navigate to your account settings, on the left navigation bar, select Coupon.

    Coupon Code restrictions are dependent upon their application.

    If the coupon code has already been applied, is not valid or is expired, you will see the following messages and may not be able to apply the coupon code:

    1. Something’s off with the code. Double check and try again.

      • You may see this message if your code is invalid.

    2. This code is only for new users.

      • You may see this message If you’re applying a coupon code meant for newly registered customers only.

    3. This code is only for accounts created on specific dates.

    4. This code has expired.

    5. Something went wrong. Refresh and try again.

    6. Coupon saved to your account.

    7. This coupon cannot be applied to your item.

    Item discounts

    Sometimes Mercari will apply discounts directly to a listing. These will appear on the marketplace with a percentage off banner on the listing. To get the discount, you don’t need to apply a coupon at checkout. However, you can’t add another discount on top of these items. If you make an offer for a bundle, item discounts won’t apply.

    When you make a purchase with these type of discounts, you won’t get the discount back if the order is canceled.

    Confirming your discount

    Once your purchase is complete, we’ll email you your receipt. It’ll include the original listing price, the total amount you paid, and any discounts applied from coupons, credits, or your balance. You can also access your receipt directly from the Order Status page.

    Please note that coupon savings are rounded down to the nearest dollar. Only one coupon can be used per transaction.

    Promotions

    Mercari will run promotions periodically. During a Mercari promotion, you get the chance to earn coupons and discounts. Participation eligibility and requirements can vary across promotions so be sure to review the terms and conditions every time.
