How can I delete my Mercari account?

Applicable regulations require Mercari to retain certain customer information after account closure. So while we cannot delete your account immediately, you can request that your account be permanently closed. Please note that permanently closing your account can’t be undone. How to permanently close your Mercari account

Before you permanently close your Mercari account, make sure that you check the following:
  1. You do not have any pending transactions.
  2. You do not have any outstanding account balance.
  3. You do not have any pending returns.
  4. You have saved any information you need for your records.

To permanently close your Mercari account:

  1. Submit your permanent account closure request via the intake form. (Note that you may need to verify your identity).
  2. After submitting your request, we will process your request within 45 days.
  3. Check your email for confirmation or a request for additional information.


Please note that depending on the age of the account, we may be unable to delete your personal information due to federal regulations that apply to businesses like Mercari that facilitate the transfer of money between consumers. Federal law requires that we retain certain data regarding customer transactions on our platform for up to five years after account closure.
