Canon AE-1 Program is a 35 mm single-lens reflex camera that uses Canon's FD mount lenses. It was introduced in 1981 as the successor to the Canon AE-1, five years after that camera's introduction. The major difference was the addition of the Program AE mode first seen in the A-1. This mode sets both the shutter speed and aperture automatically—albeit with a slight bias towards the shutter speed setting. The user focuses the camera and then presses the shutter button.

Canon AE-1 Vintage 35mm Film Camera

Improved version of the original Autoboy. It has a 38mm f/2.8 lens (4 elements in 4 groups) and a triangulation system using a near-infrared beam for autofocusing. Prefocus was achieved by pressing the shutter button halfway.

To load film, you just position the film leader at the specified mark and press the shutter button to advance to the first frame. Film advance was automatic. To rewind film, hold down the lock release button and slide the rewind switch. Exposures are controlled electronically with a program. The external design is timeless and orthodox. Mechanically tested and working. But has been not film tested. in over all excellent condition.

Description
This is the Canon AE-1 35mm film camera produced in 1981. This is a consumer mid grade A series camera. This camera comes with a Canon 50mm FD f/1.8 lens.

The camera has the following features:
* It uses an electronically-controlled, electromagnet horizontal cloth focal plane shutter
* Shutter speed range of 2 to 1/1000 second plus Bulb and flash X-sync of 1/60th second.
* accepts FD and FDn lenses as well as older FL mount lenses.
* uses a standard 6v Duracell X28LB type camera battery commonly found at camera shops and on Amazon.


It also had the addition of the Program AE mode first seen in the A-1. This mode sets both the shutter speed and aperture automatically—albeit with a slight bias towards the shutter speed setting. The user focuses the camera and then presses the shutter button. For those desiring more control, the AE-1's shutter priority auto-exposure and full manual modes are still available.
