This is a Goebel figurine from Germany. It features Bambi with Thumper jumping up on the back of Bambi's legs getting his attention. They are standing in the snow.  It has the markings on the bottom from Goebel. It is stamped Germany. It has Disney and it has DIS 10. No cracks. No repairs. It is 3-1/4" tall and it is 4-1/4" wide and 2" deep. Height – 5.5" Tall
This very popular figurine is typically found between 5 to 5½ inches tall. Initially modeled by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1946, earlier versions had a square, “waffle”base with the eyes open and looking over the top of the newspaper. Later versions, beginning in the mid-1960s, had a round base with the little boy looking down at the paper as if reading it. At one time, the paper was left blank for visitors to the factory to request a certain name be placed on the paper. This would result in a great many variations available on the secondary market to collect. There is much more to the history of this certain figurine and you would be hard pressed to find any other that has the variety that this certain figurine exhibits

The figurine is crafted in porcelain and hand painted with careful attention to details. It measures 5-1/2" tall including the round base x 2-5/8" wide x 3-1/2" long. It is marked with a pressed in "M. I. Hummel" facsimile signature on the base (her personal stamp of approval) and stamped on the underside with TMK-6 The Missing Bee trademark. Initialed and dated 1986 by the artist. The underside bears the inscription "EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION No. 10 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS' CLUB" Made in W. Germany. Exclusive & unique in this condition

This cute little piece was first released in the United States in 1989 as a free gift for joining The M.I. Hummel Club. It is imprinted "479 as well as "1987" the copyright date. This figurine is also imprinted on the back of the base with the "M. I. Hummel"signature. Imprinted on the bottom is M.I. Hummel Club as well as the Black Flying Bumble Bee in a half circle. This Hummel was retired in 5-31-96. 

This unique Hummel would be a great gift or would be the perfect addition for any collector!
