It was not until 1921 that the United States changed the law so that pieces had to be marked "Japan," not "Nippon." These laws make it easy for today's collectors to identify Nippon china. It was made between 1891 and 1921. The word "Nippon" often appears with other marks that identify the maker.

Nippon Vintage Footed  Bowl and Saucer

Marked Nippon bowl has under saucer, perhaps used to catch any dripping sauce.  Bowl is 5.5” and under saucer is 6”.

5 vintage hand painted Nippon saucer plates. no cups. Old but excellent as they have no chips or cracks. Well made with quality porcelain. The one has bubbles in it. Apparently heated to excess temperature.

Vintage Nippon

Excellent vintage condition! No noticed color wear. One small chip on the underside of the lid. The underside of the spoon has some wear on the spot that rests on the bowl. Otherwise, no chips cracks or breaks. Approximately, 5"x4.5". Spoon is 3" long. Saucer is attached. Please see photos for condition.

This listing is for 2 tiny cups and saucers from Japan marked “Nippon”
The Nippon mark was used until 1921 after that, the mark was changed to made in Japan.
So these are very old! 
I believe they are hand painted.
There are a couple of spots where the paint is worn, but after 100 years, they have no cracks or chips.
The plates are 4.25” 
The cups are 2.25” high and 2.25” across the top of the cup. 
Great for display or espresso! 
Or tea of course.

Antique Nippon pair of demitasse/espresso cups and saucers

This Nippon tea set comes with 5 cups, 5 saucers, the tea pot, and 1 tea pot lid. It's still in great condition, there are 2 Saucers that have minor chips to the bottom ( please see pictures) and some of the gilding is a bit worn. The handpainted floral pattern is lovely on this delicate and hard to find porcelain set. It's labeled Nippon with the Rising Sun marking, it was likely produced before 1921.

Very rare! Nippon tea set with raised beaded gold trim, gold handles, and delicate floral designs in shades of blues, purples, violets, and reds!  The set looks fit for the royals!  The set includes some slight wear and minor chips so please read entire description:  tea pot with lid in great condition no chips or cracks minimal wear or fading to handle or lid. Sugar/ lid has no chips cracks or repairs that I see. Wear to gold on  handle tops, just under 4 “. Creamer has three cracks but don’t go all way through, Faded gold in areas. Four tea cups two of them have repairs Glue is very noticeable from inside the 2 tea cups, 4 inches diameter 2 inches tall. Four saucers 5 1/2 diameter, 1 has a small chip. Two 6 1/2 cake plates one has two chips in rim other has a tiny chip on edge. Three 7 1/4 “ sandwich plates, One small chip, one plate has different color flowers.  Beautiful set 18 pcs. Would be beautiful on display. Unsure of date / pattern. Please see pics, all pieces stamped bottom.

This is in very nice condition, I don't see any chips or cracks. There are little black dots in the bowl..and the gold is a little worn off

Vintage Nippon Soup bowl and saucer with spoon

Very good used condition. Nice examples of intricate detailed painting.  Light serene colors in various shades of orange, and yellow represent the sun rising. Cup measures approx 2" high. Saucer measures approx 5" diameter. Nut bowl measures approx 2.25" high and 5" diameter. Cup has a single tree painted on one side. Saucer is shaded but no additional artwork. Nut bowl is light luster with a beautiful sunrise and tree painted inside. Note there is some paint rubbing that is about 1" long and 1/16" wide and another smaller rub.  See photo about midway through the tree trunk left side. It is not flash glare.  You have to look carefully to notice. Bowl has 3 black feet. Saucer and bowl is marked Hand Painted Nippon.

Vintage Japanese Nippon Chocolate Pot with 4 Demitasse Cups and 4 Saucers

- DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a BEAUTIFUL Hand painted Chocolate Pot with 4 demitasse cups and 4 saucers. The main color is white with green trim and gold gilding. The pieces are stamped on the bottom with a gold wreath of leaves and an M in the middle. It also says hand painted and Nippon around the ring.    

- CONDITION: Very good condition with small signs of age. Most of the gold gilding is in very good condition. The saucers have mild wear on the gold trim. The cups are in pretty good condition. One has  darker mark at the ridge of the cup (see the last picture).

These elegant 2 pieces of Japanese Nippon ware are exquisitely hand painted in green and gold. The bowl is 6” long and 4” wide & 2 “ deep. The accompanying saucer is 6-3/4” long and 5-1/4” wide. The duo have the shape of leaves. The tiny berries are raised in gold. These are definitely ‘show’ pieces.
