The history of Noritake china dates to 1876, when Japanese businessman  Morimura and his brother Toyo opened Morimura Brothers in New York City.referred to the dinnerware as “Noritake” as early as the 1920s, the company assumed the name Noritake Co., Limited until 1981.
Celebrated for its use of color, pattern, and design, Noritake china has undoubtedly become a prized possession for collectors worldwide.Well preserved, no signs of use for serving. Bowl is in excellent condition and is hand painted and has the signature stamp on bottom.

The trading company, which started the history of Noritake trademark was Morimura Brothers in New York in 1876. The company imported chinaware, curiosities, paper lanterns and other gift items. Founders of the business were Ichizaemon Morimura VI and his brother Toyo. In 1890s the company started working on design improvements for the pottery and porcelain ware.

I've read that things stamped occupied japan were made in japan from the years 45 thru 51, which this was , but does not say occupied Japan.  Anyway heavy substantial piece weighs almost 4lbs. You will love and cherish this piece of history on your dinner table for years to come.

"In 1904, the forerunner of the Noritake Company was established in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya, Japan. The goal of this first factory was to create western style dinnerware for export. It took until 1914, however, to create the first porcelain dinnerware plate that was suitable for export."

I would like to point out Laurel leaf wreath with M is the same as Noritake uses so I believe this is early Noritake

Small stain stain on side is underglaze and cannot be removed see picture otherwise in excellent condition size 6 1/4 inches at handles

Antique Noritake China Handpainted  Dish

This stunning Beautiful VTG Porcelain Noritake bowl, hand painted with "Little Wild Rose" blossoms are bright in colors. The bowl is signed by the artis. The green Noritake mark dates this between 1926-early 40s. The design of bowl is hexagon shape ( See photos for they are part of the description) with long scalloped rim, and gold gilding around the rim and footed base . Some wear may be present in the art work considering the history of this piece. No chips, or scratches, or grazing  Measurements: 6 7/8" L x 2 1/2" H X 2 1/2" Bowl depth x 3 7/8" footed base. Vintage Noritake Studio Collection Bone China Bird Crane Stork in original box. In great condition. The detail and coloring is exquisite. I've never seen anything like it. Highly collectible.  

There's a letter in the box which must have been given as an anniversary gift with the Crane that also gives some history on Japanese cranes and how they mate for life.
