Snow Globe

This handsome stoneware pitcher was hand-thrown and glazed with drips and runs in colors of blue, brown and beige.
Standing at 9 1/2" tall, the graceful shape includes a flared base, a curvy pulled spout and a wide strap handle, also pulled, with a thumb grip and two decorative knobs where it's attached to the body. Placing the handle high on the body gives it stability and ease of lifting. 
The Potter's finger marks are very evident on the handle. The lower portion is glossy, the top portion is glossy but soften by the textured surface. The 4 1/2" diameter dry bottom reveals the reddish tan clay used. The artist signature is incised in the bottom. 
In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. The pitcher weighs about 2 and 1/2 pounds. Impressive in size, shape and form, beautifully glazed, this one of a kind pitcher is an excellent piece of studio pottery that works with both modern and rustic decors.

This charming Acme China Company planter features a woodland pixie elf named Cricket crouching in a tree stump. The item was made in Japan and showcases a unique MCM design. These Vintage Chinese Porcelain Foo Dogs are also called Chinese Guardian Lions. They are also referred as Buddha dogs, Foo Dogs, and Fu Dogs.  The Chinese refer to them as Shi which means lion. These Foo Dogs are placed inside or outside a building and are meant to protect your home or workplace from negative energy. I read that these guardian lions will stop anyone with malicious intensions from entering your home.  The are also known as Komainu in Japan.


Foo dogs are actually Chinese Guardian Lions. It is Westerners who named them Foo dogs. Some also call them Fu dogs. Yet others may call them Buddha dogs.
The Chinese will most often refer to them as Shi which means lion. In Japan Foo dogs are known as Komainu.
Foo dogs which are placed inside or outside a building are meant to protect your home.box 401
