Ok, so when I bought this phone from the store, I was under the impression that the phone could be used only on wifi for games for one of the kids. The guy told me that the phone would need to be activated in order to be used at all, so I purchased a $10 Verizon card, hoping that would be enough to activate it. Apparently you have to go through an entire activation process and/or have service already. I actually have no idea. All I did was purchase the phone and open it and never actually do anything with it. Then I put it away and here I am a year later selling it. I don't know if that card is good anymore or if it's worth anything or if it expired or something, I don't actually use Verizon so idk how it works. The phone is completely brand new though. Still in the box with all the paper and everything.
