EUC Georg Jensen stainless flatware Serving Spoon Fork

The Georg Jensen silversmith company, (Denmark, 1904 - present), produced these sublime, iced-tea spoons in the middle of the last century. They were my grandmother’s, who acquired them new in the 1940s or 1950s. The spoons are stainless steel, designed by one of the Jensen silversmith’s more famous designers, Harald Nielsen (1892 – 1977).  The Plata pattern is no longer in production. However, its Art Nouveau style, embraced by Georg Jensen and his collaborators, is indicative of the beauty meets utility that minimalists love.  

Mild soap/water, then a polish with a soft cloth will keep the brilliant shine and protect against unnecessary wear and tear. They have been gently used, with some light scratching on near inspection. There are no nicks or garbage disposal damage. However, one spoon has a slight bend in the top but can be restored by a skilled restorer.
