Up for sale is a fully restored and working 1987 Talking and interactive Jill doll from playmates toys!

Jill was a doll wonder way ahead of her time. She isn’t really a doll, but more of a small robot animatronic.  She was too expensive and sophisticated to be a child’s toy, and almost bankrupted playmates toys. She was brought out in 1987 and quickly discontinued within her first year of production. She has become quite rare, and almost impossible to find working.

I am one of very few people that has spent years researching and restoring these fascinating retro toys. She is very complex to fix and has many obsolete parts. She can only come to life with her special cassette cartridges. Which are also hard to find. One will be included. These tapes have run for 37 years, so none will sound perfect. 1987 Playmates Talking Jill Doll. Untested - Listed as is. Her right arm is broken off by a previous owner, and I do not have it. Her battery pack is very clean and has no corrosion that I've seen, but the lid of it does have a piece broken off. It still closes, but you just have to push a bit more. Her hair definitely needs some TLC. Also, her clothes and shoes have been cleaned and are primarily in good shape for her age - with minor snags and a rip at her knee.
