First edition, first printing, June 1945. Published by Simon and Schuster, New York, 

Spine is tight. Blue spine and page edges.  Top blue edge is faded. Top and bottom of spine has been bumped/knocked. No name written inside. No known writing, creases, folds, tears or defects on the inside of the book.

Dust Jacket has very small tears, discolored on the inside, chips, wrinkles, tiny holes, stains. 

Dust Jacket does have its wartime Buy US War Savings Stamps and Bonds on rear flap, with text: "Hansel and Gretel have learned how to provide for the future. Each week they buy War Savings Stamps, and soon they are going to buy a Bond. It's a good way for you to save, too."

The illustrations are just delightful.

Condition: Book is readable and overall in fair to good condition for a 75 year old book. The front and back covers have started to separate from the book. The pages are intact with no writing or rips. The cover has age wear, and there are children's names written on the inside front cover. There are some minor smudges on the pages.

A child by the name of Little Galoshes discovers his farm animal friends know him by the sound of his feet.



This book had been stored improperly and has spots of mildew staining and has a musty scent. The front cover has paper damage on the bottom and the cover print is separated from the cardboard piece underneath on the very bottom. Some of the pages have some discolorations as well. The pages are still colorful with no noted tears. There are remnants of a scribble in the name frame inside the front cover.
