Vintage Whiting and Davis Gold Mesh Purse

Vintage Purse by Whiting and Davis in Brown Metallic Mesh with a Muted Gold Tone Chain Strap and Wine-Colored Satin Lining.
• 1940's "Alumesh" (fine metal mesh covered in enamel) Whiting and Davis, made in Plainville, Mass. in the USA.

The purse is a chocolate brown mesh with a wine-colored satin lining and has a delicate gold tone chain strap. The purse measures 5 1/4" x 8" and is 23" long including the strap.
The clasp is a gold tone kiss clasp which fastens securely. With "Whiting and Davis Mesh Bags" label. 
No stains, tears, imperfections- in beautiful condition!

This Whiting and Davis ivory metal mesh purse with chunky lucite chain link handle is an interesting piece to have. The mesh tiles are set on the diagonal which makes diamond shapes. The bag opens and closes with an ivory chunky kiss lock. The interior is lined in navy blue taffeta and has one pocket.  Made in the USA.
The measurements are: without strap 8 ½ in X 9 ½ in. Strap 5 ½ long. Depth approximately 6 ½ in.  
Some of the ivory mesh tiles have light rust on them, but nothing major that a little care can't fix. The Whiting and Davis Co tag is on the inside and shows its age.

It has beautiful metal detailing across the top on both sides and is stamped with #2846.  The gold link chain handle and metal hardware framework has a beautiful natural patina. The inside has moire fabric liner with a constructed mirror pocket.  Liner is in good condition with no wear but has minimal spots due to age. 

This beautiful bag measures approximately 7"w x 5.75"h and the chain handle drop measures 4.75"l. 

This is truly a beautifully vintage evening bag that will stun!  Please see the photographs for condition and wear.

It measures 5 inches by 4 inches and it is in very good condition. There is a little wear to the kiss catch and also to the chain handle.

Interior looks great, no stains.
Measures 8.5in along the bottom, 5.5in height and handle drop of 4.5in.

This vintage gold metal mesh handbag/purse is from the 1930's or 40's. Made by Whiting & Davis Co. Handbag is in good condition but does have one corner and part of interior side coming unstitched. Can be easily stitched. Satin inside has a seperate pocket perfect for ID and credit cards. 
Measures 7" x 6" at the top of the clasp.

Previously owned but in good condition! Just a part of mesh that is chipped, and the lining has a small area with little pinholes (shown in photos).

Top of purse and chain are Bakelite, in a very light yellowish cream color. Mesh is a white cream color. 

Measures 11” in length and 8” in height.
