Vintage Whiting and Davis Gold Mesh Purse

Vintage Purse by Whiting and Davis in Brown Metallic Mesh with a Muted Gold Tone Chain Strap and Wine-Colored Satin Lining.
• 1940's "Alumesh" (fine metal mesh covered in enamel) Whiting and Davis, made in Plainville, Mass. in the USA.

The purse is a chocolate brown mesh with a wine-colored satin lining and has a delicate gold tone chain strap. The purse measures 5 1/4" x 8" and is 23" long including the strap.
The clasp is a gold tone kiss clasp which fastens securely. With "Whiting and Davis Mesh Bags" label. 
No stains, tears, imperfections- in beautiful condition!

Whiting & Davis Gold & Silver Mesh Purse Bag, Vintage 1900’s

Nice vintage mesh bag by Whiting & Davis.  Comes with original box and I believe also the original mirror in wrapper and clear plastic comb.
Has tarnish I have not tried to clean.
Has stains on inside cloth lining.
Box has some damage, tears, creases,wear.
Mirror is not broken but is cloudy and finish is weird...not sure how to describe it.
Mesh is intact, no broken places that I see. 
I'm marking it fair due to inside staining and tarnishing.

Vintage Whiting & Davis silver purse

This Whiting and Davis ivory metal mesh purse with chunky lucite chain link handle is an interesting piece to have. The mesh tiles are set on the diagonal which makes diamond shapes. The bag opens and closes with an ivory chunky kiss lock. The interior is lined in navy blue taffeta and has one pocket.  Made in the USA.
The measurements are: without strap 8 ½ in X 9 ½ in. Strap 5 ½ long. Depth approximately 6 ½ in.  
Some of the ivory mesh tiles have light rust on them, but nothing major that a little care can't fix. The Whiting and Davis Co tag is on the inside and shows its age.

Vintage / Antique Whiting & Davis Gold tone Mesh Kiss-lock Handbag / Clutch. This vintage piece is in excellent condition. It has beautiful metal detailing across the top on both sides and is stamped with #2846.  The gold link chain handle and metal hardware framework has a beautiful natural patina. The inside has moire fabric liner with a constructed mirror pocket.  Liner is in good condition with no wear but has minimal spots due to age. 

This beautiful bag measures approximately 7"w x 5.75"h and the chain handle drop measures 4.75"l. 

This is truly a beautifully vintage evening bag that will stun!  Please see the photographs for condition and wear.

This little purse was never used. It still has the original tag attached and the little mirror inside in the original white paper bag. It measures 4"x5". Cute as can be! Inside and outside looks nice.  Like new but obviously old.

#665999 Vintage Whiting & Davis silver mesh purse with long chain. I've never seen another one like this. The detail on the frame is amazing. The inside has a orange spot maybe a lipstick stain. See pic. The purse itself is in great condition. Size 7.5" tall by 5" wide.  About a 15" chain drop. Highly collectible.

The exterior is still bright and shiny and in very good vintage condition with no missing or detached metal links. Stamped on the inside of the frame and "Made in USA".
Interior looks great, no stains.
Measures 8.5in along the bottom, 5.5in height and handle drop of 4.5in.

Vintage Whiting & Davis Alumesh hand bag.

The outside body of the bag is eggshell colored flexible metal mesh (Alumesh), the lining inside is dark blue fabric and has a slip pocket sewn in.

The chunky ivory tone celluloid kiss clasp closure with matching hinged frame and linked chain handle are all in great condition.

This Art Deco clutch bag measures approximately 9” across the bottom, 8” high (including the clasps), and the strap is 6 1/2” from the top of the bag.

This unique purse is in great condition, has no missing or broken parts. There are a few discolored beads on one side and a white stain on the lining.
